Save the Ocean

OPS has a very limited staff, so your contribution will go a long way towards helping us with our mission: inspiring people to save the oceans. OPS is happy to announce that The Cove is now being shown in Japan. It is our hope that with the support of the Japanese people we will be able to end the dolphin drives in Taiji. Our next feature documentary film, currently titled The Singing Planet, will address the mass species extinction event that is happening right now. Scientists predict that we may lose half of all species on the planet by the end of the century. Oceans will be affected most profoundly, losing five times more species than will be lost on land. Pollution, habitat loss, overfishing, climate change, and ocean acidification will contribute in different ways to this catastrophic loss. From the plankton that is responsible for most of the oxygen we breathe, to the great singing humpback whales, incredible species are being threatened by these non-discriminating forces. But this film won’t be a doomsday message. Instead, it will introduce passionate people that are already creating the change we urgently need. With positive and simple changes, everyone can be a part of this solution. Through stunning visuals in 3D and an enhanced auditory experience The Singing Planet will remind us why life on Earth is worth saving, and ultimately inspire us to preserve our planet for future generations. We hope this film, like The Cove, will inspire activism across the globe and create the change we so desperately need. We are grateful for your generous donation and your commitment to the environment.
